She completed her Master of Public Health at the Pennsylvania State University, USA, where she also worked as a research fellow at the division of epidemiology and is currently a PhD candidate in Public Health at Lancaster University, UK. Her research interests include the interface between nutrition and public health, health inequalities, and nutrition support in gastrointestinal surgical oncology.

Since relocating to Dubai I have been awarded an Associate Clinical Professor position with Gulf Medical University. At Kings College Hospital Dubai I am the Director of the Intestinal Rehabilitation Centre and the Director of Education. I have a strong academic record, including an appointment in 2024 as the Lead Associate Editor for Small bowel, Nutrition and Intestinal Failure for the Frontline Gastroenterology journal. I have authored over 20 peer reviewed articles and reviewed articles for Frontline Gastroenterology, Intestinal Failure and Clinical Transplantation. I have contributed chapters to textbooks and have been an invited speaker to many regional, national and international conferences. I am passionate about teaching and training and was previously Nutrition training representative to the British Society of Gastroenterology training committee. I am a member by invitation of the International Academy of Nutrition Educators (IANE) and am delighted to now oversee all undergraduate and postgraduate medical education as Director of Education.
