Dr. Janak Nathan is a Consultant Neurologist at Shushrusha Citizens Co-operative Hospital, Mumbai, and a pioneer of ketogenic dietary therapy in Asia. A member of the ILAE Task Force for Dietary Therapies, he has advanced the use of ketogenic interventions for epilepsy, cancer, and neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer’s disease, autism, and multiple sclerosis. He founded the Vijay Epilepsy Care Foundation in 1996 to promote epilepsy awareness and ketogenic diet access across India, including rural outreach programs. Dr. Nathan serves on the executive committees of the International Neuro Ketogenic Society (INKS) and the Global Society of Metabolic Therapy and has published extensively in international journals. In 2023, he became the first Asian recipient of the prestigious Dr. John Freeman Award at the Global Ketogenic Therapies Symposium in San Diego.

She won the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Arab Researchers, is an elected Associate Fellow at the Académie d’Agriculture de France and received the AUB Board Designated Professorship Award.

Subsequently, he worked as a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Physician at Mediclinic Welcare Hospital and is an Assistant Professor MBRU in Dubai His vast experience in the fields of Gastroenterology and Hepatology combined with the latest technology and innovations make him much sought after.
